

SCORPION-16 is a simple solution to leverage the existing set of well-established MIO modules to meet broadcasting requirements. Compared to the existing lineup of SCORPION chassis, SCORPION-16 does not include any integrated routing or switching elements, aiming to provide a low-cost MIO carrier solution for applications where external switch fabrics are used or only simple SDI processing is required.
The SCORPION-16 is a 1RU frame that can populate up to 8 hot-swappable MIO modules to realize functions like video processing and conversion, embedders and de-embedders, and encoding and gateway. It's compact form factor offers benefits to broadcasters to minimize the product footprint, effectively increasing density of IO per RU while allowing for mixing and matching frame population to meet edge requirements.
