Payroll & Benefits Administrator (Mat Leave 20 months Contract)

Working within the administrative group, you will be involved in the daily operations of the Payroll team.

Responsibilities:

  • Calculates, posts and audits payroll information
  • Inputs payroll, timekeeping and personnel data into an automated system to maintain accurate and up-to-date records
  • Provides courteous customer service in response to inquiries
  • Makes changes to employees’ information, resolving discrepancies and/or clarifying procedures both in person and over the telephone
  • Prepares a variety of forms, correspondence, input documents and problem reports to provide departmental payroll/personnel support
  • Maintains detailed files and record-keeping systems to assure accurate and complete documentation of payroll/personnel transactions in original copy
  • Receives, distributes and files payroll/personnel related documents
  • Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages
  • New employee orientations
  • Administers the employee benefit plans
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • College or University education
  • Pursuing a PCP designation
  • Work experience is an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong Microsoft Excel /Word skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Positive attitude and able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Experience working with Ceridian Insync application would be an asset
  • Ability to maintain employee confidence by keeping information confidential
